Structure of TOEFL Test: Since the year 2005, the Internet Based Testing (iBT) in TOEFL has replaced the earlier versions of computer based testing (CBT) and paper based testing (PBT) where ever available. In India it has been iBT testing for the past few years.

* Reading Section: This section consists of 3-5 long passages and related questions about the same. This section questions your ability to understand, comprehend, infer, restate and vocabulary in English language.
# 3 Passages - 39 Questions - 60 Minutes Duration

* Listening Section: This section consists of 6 long passages and related questions about the same. This section tests your ability to understand American English and then comprehend, infer, restate the same in variety of questions.
#6 Passages - 34 Questions - 50 Minutes Duration

* Speaking Section: This section has 2 independent and 4 dependent tasks.
#In the 2 independent tasks the test taker has to answer opinion questions about some aspects of academic life.
# In 2 related & dependent tasks the test taker has to read, listen and speak about the ideas in the passage.
#In another 2 related & dependent tasks the test taker has to listen to long passages and then speak about the opinions on the same.
6 tasks - 6 questions - 20 Minutes Duration

* Writing Section: This section consists of 2 tasks - One dependent and other independent task.
#In the dependent task, the test taker has to read, listen and then write about the related passages.
# In the independent task, the test taker has to write an essay of his own choice.
2 tasks - 2 Questions - 55 Minutes Duration
