ICSI to offer its courses on online platform

NEW DELHI: The Institute of Companies Secretaries of India has decided to offer its courses on online platform, a move that would specially benefit students in remote areas.

"We are working out the details and it is likely to start by the end of this year," ICSI President Preeti Malhotra said on the sidelines of a seminar on corporate compliance.

She said to start with, the course targeted at school pass outs will be offered online. The Institute is also planning to offer its three-year post graduate course on the same platform. However, the details have not been finalised yet.

The e-learning model will enable students to have access to learning and faculty support at any time as per their convenience, Malhotra said.
After the 'Foundation Course' goes online, the students would be able to send their responses for evaluation and receive feedback by faculties. The faculty would also give their suggestions online.
Students would also be able to interact live with the faculty members through web, she added.

The special focus of this initiative would be on students from semi-urban and mofussil areas of the country.

As a prelude to this, the institute has already started providing study material on compact disc, Malhotra said.

Earlier, inaugurating the seminar on measures to ensure compliance by companies to various laws and rules Secretary in Ministry of Company Affairs Anurag Goel said companies should encourage their employees to report questionable activities as it would enable them to respond immediately if compliance problem is detected.
