Admissions for First Semester 2007-2008 Off-Campus Work-Integrated Learning Programmes
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, which is deemed to be a University, is an all-India Institute for higher education for men and women and awards its own degrees. The Institute offers the following off-campus work-integrated learning programmes:
1. BS Optometry: This 4-year Integrated First Degree programme is conducted at Chennai in collaboration with Sankara Nethralaya – Elite School of Optometry and at Hyderabad in collaboration with L.V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) – Bausch & Lomb School of Optometry. Input Requirements: Pass in 10+2 from Central/State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology.
2. BS Physician Assistant: This 4-year Integrated First Degree programme is conducted at Chennai in collaboration with Madras Medical Mission as well as with Frontier Lifeline – Dr. KM Cherian Heart Foundation. Input Requirements: Pass in 10+2 from Central / State Board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology.
3. MS Medical Laboratory Technology: This 3-year Higher Degree Programme is conducted at Chennai in collaboration with Sankara Nethralaya – Medical Research Foundation. Input Requirements: B. Sc in experimental sciences with exposure to Biology and Chemistry, or equivalent.
4. M. Phil Optometry: This 2-year Higher Degree programme is conducted at Chennai in collaboration with Sankara Nethralaya – Medical Research Foundation. Input Requirements: B. S Optometry of BITS or equivalent.
The short-listed candidates for above programmes will be required to take a Written Test at Chennai/Hyderabad on Sunday, 15th July 2007, which will be followed by Interviews (a) on Monday, 16th July 2007 at Chennai for all Sankara Nethralaya collaborative programmes; (b) on Tuesday, 17th July 2007 at Chennai for BS Physician Assistant programme with both the collaborations, and (c) on Wednesday, 18th July 2007 at Hyderabad for LVPEI BS Optometry.
