Since decades many students are traveling to USA for education and then immigrating in the country. For this students has to obtain the country's visa issued at the embassy. In the recent times, United States has updated the policies of issuing visa (http://impeloverseas.com/usa-student-visa.html) to increase the security for the citizens and visitors of the country. Yet, there are many things that remained unchanged.
To study in USA (http://impeloverseas.com/study-destinations-usa.html), international students have to attend US Embassy/Consulate for visa interview. Before that, students have to receive the I-20 or IAP-66 form (for J1 visa) from the US University. This form confirms the student's admission in the university.
USA offers two types of student visas:
* Immigrant Visa (http://impeloverseas.com/usa-student-visa.html): It is issued for the individual who is intended to live permanently in USA.
* Non-immigrant: It is issued for the individual with the permanent residence outside USA and temporarily wants to be in USA either for study, tourism, medical treatment, business or for any temporary work.
For the students who want to study in USA should initially get the admission from any university or educational institution of USA before commencing the visa process. The visas issued for students are then classified into three categories:
* F1 Visa - issued for the students applied to study in USA or to conduct research at an accredited US university.
* M1 Visa - issued for the students applied for Non-academic or Vocational Studies in USA or for training at a non-academic institution.
* J1 Visa - issued for the students applied for academic studies as an exchange visitor through a designated sponsoring organization that includes educational and cultural exchange programs.
US Embassy/Consulate has stated the system of prior appointment for the visa interview. On the appointment date, students have to appear for a personal interview and convince the visa officer that they have abundant funding to study in USA and cover all the expenses and tuition fee. They have to prove that they are not intending for immigration and have strong ties with India.
The applicant's name will be verified against the sophisticated government databases for possible criminal and other information that may disqualify them. The visa officer examines the application and supporting documents and data for facts indicating possible ineligibility, inconsistencies or questions that may require clarification.
In few circumstances the visa officer may also demand further application review in Washington DC. Some visa applicants may need to undergo an extra review process if they seek to engage in a commercial exchange or academic pursuit involving certain designated fields of advanced technology. As a visa applicant, you have to recognize that these name-checking and registration processes are necessary and crucial elements that protect the citizens and visitors. Due to such procedure, many visas take at least long period.
